Building simple, decent, affordable homes for the community since 1995.

Habitat for Humanity is a locally based affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. It was incorporated and chartered in April 1995 with a mission to eliminate substandard housing by building simple, decent, affordable houses for the working poor of Laredo, Texas.

Our belief is that all of God's children deserve a simple, decent home in which to live. Our mission is to assist in the elimination of substandard and inadequate housing in our community. Our future is dependent upon the many volunteers and donors who make dreams come true through Habitat homeownership.

Program Spotlight

Thank you to our outgoing AmeriCorps/VISTA members.Michael Shawn Burleson (2 years of service), Oscar Saenz, Nathaniel "Rusty" Gauthreaux, Elias "Toby" Gauthreaux and Ezequiel Laurel (3 years of service).  We are proud to have served with you!

Four AmeriCorps members will begin their service in construction starting September, 2010.  They will teach volunteers and homeowner families to construct Habitat homes.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of the U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
