War, Natural Disasters Hit local HomesAlthough Webb County has not been hit by a hurricane nor is it in the middle of a war zone, these two national events have had their local impact. Habitat for Humanity has suffered along with almost every other builder in the country. War and natural disaster have historically driven up the price of construction materials. Products that once cost $4 in January now cost $20. The unfortunate circumstance is that prices will continue to climb. It is a continuous challenge to reach our building goals under these circumstances, but it can be done. HFH has assisted more than 25 families since 1994 with the support of the community. At no other time has the need for donors been felt this strongly; not just donors of time but donors of money. Natural disasters and war have been making an impact. You can make a larger one. You, your family, your church, your school, or your organization can make a difference. The dignity you provide a hardworking family by working side by side with them in the construction of their home, helps to uplift community your soul.
